A pan of baked ziti for under three dollars a serving and feeds six people with leftovers. Jarred sauce, a tub of ricotta, a bag of mozzarella, and a box of pasta. That's the whole move.

What You Need

Serves
6
  • 1 lb ziti
  • 1 jar marinara, 24–28oz
  • 15oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

How to Make It

  1. 1

Preheat oven to 400°F. Cook ziti 2 minutes short of al dente in heavily salted water. Drain.

  2. 2

In the drained pot, stir together marinara, garlic, Italian seasoning, and a heavy pinch of salt. Add pasta and toss to coat.

  3. 3

Dump half the pasta into a 9x13 pan. Dollop with half the ricotta and a third of the mozzarella. Layer remaining pasta, ricotta, and mozzarella on top. Finish with parmesan.

  4. 4

Cover with foil and bake 15 minutes. Uncover and bake another 10 minutes until the top is bubbly and browned. Rest 5 minutes before serving.
