3-Ingredient Chocolate Mousse
Chocolate mousse has a reputation for being fussy — double boilers, separated eggs, folding technique that requires a YouTube tutorial. This version has three ingredients and takes fifteen minutes. It tastes exactly like the real thing because it essentially is the real thing.
What You Need
- 6oz dark chocolate, 70% or higher, chopped
- 3 eggs, separated
- 1 cup heavy cream
How to Make It
- 1
Melt chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over a pot of barely simmering water, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
- 2
Whip the heavy cream to soft peaks. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks into the warm chocolate one at a time.
- 3
In a third bowl, whisk egg whites to stiff peaks. Fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture, then fold in the egg whites in two batches — gently, to keep the air in. Divide into glasses and refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving.
