3-Ingredient Ricotta Toast

Ricotta toast has its moment in food media every few years and then mysteriously disappears again. This is a shame, because properly made ricotta toast โ€” thick-cut bread, whole-milk ricotta piled on generously, honey and flaky salt โ€” is one of the genuinely excellent five-minute meals. Better than avocado toast on the right morning.

What You Need

  • 2 slices thick bread, sourdough works best
  • 1/2 cup whole-milk ricotta
  • 2 teaspoons good honey
  • 1 pinch flaky salt

How to Make It

    Toast bread until deeply golden โ€” not pale and floppy. It should crack slightly when you bite it.

    Spread ricotta thickly on each slice โ€” this is not the time for restraint. Season the ricotta with a small pinch of salt.

    Drizzle honey over the top. Finish with flaky salt. Eat immediately before the toast softens.
