Classic French toast the way a diner would make it. Eggs, milk, a vanilla-cinnamon kiss, and thick bread. Eight minutes start to finish.
What You Need
Serves
3
- 6 slices thick-cut bread, brioche, challah, or Texas toast
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
How to Make It
- 1
Whisk eggs, milk, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt in a wide shallow bowl until fully combined.
- 2
Heat a tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium. Dip each bread slice in the custard for 15 seconds per side โ long enough to soak, not so long that it falls apart.
- 3
Cook 2โ3 minutes per side until deeply golden. Add more butter between batches. Serve immediately with maple syrup and more butter on top if you want to live.
