Classic French toast the way a diner would make it. Eggs, milk, a vanilla-cinnamon kiss, and thick bread. Eight minutes start to finish.

  • 6 slices thick-cut bread, brioche, challah, or Texas toast
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

How to Make It

    Whisk eggs, milk, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt in a wide shallow bowl until fully combined.

    Heat a tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium. Dip each bread slice in the custard for 15 seconds per side โ€” long enough to soak, not so long that it falls apart.

    Cook 2โ€“3 minutes per side until deeply golden. Add more butter between batches. Serve immediately with maple syrup and more butter on top if you want to live.
